Goings On in Brussels : Junior Boys Concert at Mr Wong

After two amazing months in the United States, I’m unfortunately heading back to Belgium, as the summer is almost over. But when sadness comes in, happiness comes out. As a welcome back party I'll have the pleasure to end up in one of my best spot in town, Mr Wong. Indeed, The Junior Boys duo will give a concert on September 1st

The two Canadians play hypnotic and sexy electro beats mixed up with a slice of disco. It’s a kind of ‘When Depeche Mode met Pet Shop Boys’.

This is a unique and exclusive concert for Belgium. So, make sure you got your ticket in a FNAC store or online store.

There is a limited capacity in Mr Wong, pre-sale are advised.

More information here.

Girls, Women, Ladies : We have it all !

These past few days, I couldn't stop thinking about me as woman. Do we matter? Do we have a room in business and entrepreneurship? Or are we stuck in this little piece of meat we’re supposed to be because we like fashion and trends? Could fashion be matched with powerful business woman?

Firstly, I want to share a story with you, quite usual, but still, I want to share it.
Last week, I have been chatting up by a kind (but strange guy). Walking down the 2nd in Milwaukee a guy in his car asks to give me a ride. Of course, I say no, thinking that he could understand this simple word. But, I was wrong. One block further, the guy actually pulled over to begging to get into his car (freaky uh?). After, a 10 minutes debate, he finally gets it.
But what's wrong with you guys? Do you know that with such behavior we're just scared? I mean, literally.

That’s why, I was so relieved when I saw the campaign launched by ELLE Belgium (my home country): “Touche pas à ma pote” (“Don’t touch my girlfriend). Such a relieve to see, that fashion industry do care about those things.

Besides, we are still trying to “survive” in this crazy world; we can be powerful, aren’t we? As the Forbes’ top 100 of women who run the world just came out, I think we can. Even if the number one, Angela Merkel is not very interested about fashion (or doesn’t even try). We can find some other good example like the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama (number 7). I had the honor to see her last Thursday and I can tell you she is as charming as Barack. She knows the issues people care about, she is real. And on the top of that, she has got a sense of humor that makes her more gorgeous.

So girls, women, ladies, it's up to us because we can have it all !

Pics of the weekend and the perfect outfit

This weekend has been so mixed up and this Monday it was pretty hard to find one single picture to sum up so many different things !
Furthermore, the weather was so different from a day to another. That's why by the end of each day, I could point out that my outfit wasn't fitting me at all.

So I couldn't help of wondering: Is there on earth an all-weather outfit? Because I just spent the weekend wearing the wrong things! And trust me, it wasn't funny at all.

First of all, my weekend started on Thursday night when I went to my first NFL Football game. The weather was windy so I decided to wear that. As you can see, I went trough the Jersey Store where I bought a Packers tee (I switched it in the creepy bathroom of the stadium). And during the game, it starts raining so I had to wear my poncho. And so the blue sweater wasn't matching with the green tee anymore, my feet were wet, I wanted people to see my damn green tee... In other words: D I S A S T E R.
I spent my Friday evening shopping. For that kind of occupation I think I know how to dress, wasn't an issue.

But on Saturday and Sunday, OMG I was all wrong. I'm kind of involved in the election and I went  canvassing and knocking on doors for the re-election of the president. To skip the details, on Saturday I end up sweaty and freezing on Sunday (plus no more feet, I walked way too much).

Afterwards, I tried to figure out the perfect outfit, which can face the rain, the sun and the wind.

Sunday Song: Hollywood, Hollywood, Something About You

Hello folks!

I hope you've had a nice Saturday night. What are you up to today?
As for me, I'm very honored this morning to play host to one of my dearest friend: Alizé.

She's the kind of facebook friend who can always surprise you with a nice track on a very bad Monday morning, you know, when you're just scrolling down your feeds to check up on everyone's weekend parties?

Today, Alizé has three tracks for you. Besides, I forgot to mention, she's an amazing dancer, so she knows pretty much about music.

---
You should probably know that song, shouldn't you? It has been aired a lot these past months.

Yeah, it's RAC, a band from Portland, Oregon. And the famous belgian DJ Magician has aslo realesed a remix of it.

I've got it free here. (my pleasure)

Lately, the RAC duo did a cover of Daft Punk, featuring with Liz Anjos. This track is just deep and perfect to chill out this Sunday!

And guess what? It's free too!

It's FREE, it's SUNDAY.

Showoff the good bag

Living in the states for a few, I had the pleasure to discover the food, the TV shows, the food, Netflix, the food.

In other words, I did enjoy my time here and I'm still. But a very strange thing happened one day: I saw that bag, on the shoulder of woman. Firstly,I just tell to myself that she had no taste for bags and that she definitely might need some help. But then, I saw another one and the week after, two more. Secondly, I thought it was a fake Vuitton (really), found out it wasn't.

I needed to find out at who's the designer who's burning my eyes! And I just asked the next lady I came to and she proudly said: 'COACH' (with an over-sized smile on her face). 'But it's expensive', she added (shouldn't have).

I know some people do not have taste when it comes to bags. But come on, that? I can not believe she really likes it, does she? She's into the brand or even the phenomenon of brand.

So I couldn't help of wondering : why do people like brands (and obviously even ugly ones)? Is it about proving something to ourselves? To your friends, co-workers, relatives?
I taught that only dudes like to showoff (with their girlfriends). And the louder, the better (e.g. Lady Gaga style). Apparently, chicks are doing the same with the bags.
But it's never too late to get THE one! And to turn from ugly and expensive to expensive and at stunning.

Pic of the week-end : walking in someone else's shoes

This week-end, I was doing some shopping at Macy's without being able to find anything. I had some much running through my mind.

Indeed, I was thinking about my professional projects. Should I do this or that?
And at the same time I couldn't stop thinking about this Facebook album, a high school friend just got married. She looked to beautiful and so happy in those pictures. Tough she was kind of a tomboy high school (and still is). But the feeling of happiness made her the most beautiful person I''d seen that day.

I couldn't help wondering why did she just got married and the big deal of my life is my upcoming career or this hot guys I just met and I don't know if I should to text him back or not ? And what if my big deal is to drag  my BFF along to this new place-to-be in town?

Am I missing the boat to adulthood here?

On the top of that, I have four weddings coming up next fall including my sister's big day, which is obviously the biggest issue here.

Back in this big storeRight there at Macy's, I didn't know where to go and what to do. Grab a dress? Grab a baby's present (because of course my friends are having babies too!)?
It felt so unfair... Why am I to spend money on things that make me feel sad and childish?

And at the very moment, walking down the store going crazy, I stood up face-to-face with those perfect heels (You know, the kind you only meet once in a blue moon).

So, as a matter of fact, this fall, I'm not gonna care about fining the perfect dress. It doesn't matter if my dress is career and hers is a wedding, a baby or even a house. As long as I wear, the perfect shoes that fits me (only). I think I'll be just fine.

And really, who said that you have walk in someone else's shoes?

Have a nice week folks.
